Fanaticon Case Study

Fanaticon Integrated Brand Identity Campaign

Alabama Fanaticon is a local pop-culture convention that brings fans, gamers and comic enthusiasts alike together to celebrate their fandoms. It is a weekend-long event that features panels, comic books, workshops, live music, costuming, celebrity guests and much more. Local comics/games shop Fanatix partnered with us to dream up a new approach to create a buzz in the Wiregrass about the convention.

Our Approach

We knew we wanted to create a unique campaign to advertise this pop-culture fan festival. We strived to make this campaign one that people were eager to be a part of. We started by creating the “Super Robot Pilot Academy.” We used this in all branding to help “recruit” people to join in and get passes for the convention. This theme was incorporated through an online quiz to find out which robot people were and other various branded merchandise. We used striking new logos that encompassed this idea as well. Then, we plastered downtown Dothan with outdoor branding that included a virtual reality art installation.

Final Product

By using this strategic approach, we were able to create a lot of attention to Fanaticon. It boosted overall engagement and brought in a new generation of loyal fans that will continue to participate for years to come. In addition to the overall success of this campaign, we were awarded a Gold American Advertising Award and received Best in Show at the local American Advertising Awards in the Integrated Brand Identity Campaign category.

We enjoyed working with Fanatix to help take their convention to the next level. Seeing our unique approach and collaboration to help our clients’ vision come to life is what motivates us to do what we do daily.
